Catherine Ivy is responsible for the administration, investment management and charitable grant-making of the Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation. She monitors and participates in the design of the overall grant-making strategies and policies emphasizing the needs of brain tumor research.

A Certified Financial Planner, Catherine worked in the financial planning industry for over 24 years. Prior to becoming involved in the brain tumor community, she served as owner and president of Ivy Financial Planning and Associates in Palo Alto, California. She has a Master of Science degree in personal financial planning from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Arizona State University.

Catherine has a very personal interest in this work. She became involved in the brain tumor community when her husband, Ben Ivy, lost his battle with glioblastoma brain cancer in 2005. Since 2005, Catherine has led the effort of the Ivy Foundation contributing over $165 million to brain cancer research. She currently continues her efforts to support research on brain cancer, leading to the development of better diagnostics and treatments that offer long-term survival and a high quality of life for patients with brain tumors.

Catherine serves as a member of the Mayo Clinic Arizona Leadership Council, a board member of the Board of Directors of the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) Foundation and is a member of The Philanthropy Workshop (TPW). Catherine has been on the Advisory Board of the Barrow Neurological Institute, the Advisory Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Advisory Board of PathNorth. She also had been on the Advisory Board of the National Brain Tumor Society and served on the External Scientific Committee for The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) with the National Institutes of Health.

Megan Edwards is the President of Ivy Financial Planning, LLC, a wealth management company located in Los Gatos, California, specializing in overseeing the portfolios and comprehensive financial planning of high net-worth clients, through LPL Financial.

Since 2008, she has owned and operated Ivy Financial Planning and is responsible for the management of her clients’ portfolios, administration of the business, and compliance regulations. Prior to becoming a principal of her own firm, Megan worked in the financial planning industry for 14 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance from California Polytechnic State University.

Megan has been a volunteer for the foundation since its inception in 2005. She joined the board of The Ivy Foundation in 2010, serving with other board members to review project proposals, oversee foundation assets, and evaluate the strategic plan. Her experience in income-producing real estate property and equities has contributed greatly to the foundation.

Stephanie McRae, Esq. currently serves as the General Counsel for The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). TGen is a nonprofit research institute based in Phoenix, Arizona and dedicated to conducting groundbreaking research and helping patients with diseases such as cancer, neurological disorders, and diabetes. Prior to joining TGen, Ms. McRae was a partner at Jennings Strouss & Salmon, P.L.C. in Phoenix, Arizona where she was Chairman of the Life Sciences & Biotechnology Practice Group. She previously worked for an international law firm in the Silicon Valley where her practice focused on new and emerging life sciences and technology companies.

She is admitted to practice law in Arizona and California, and received her Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and her Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.

Stephanie also serves on the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona.
